Transform Your Crane into a Forklift with Crane Forks

Sometimes, you need to get pallets or other products into high places. A forklift is the usual equipment for this, but if you are working with a crane instead, there’s a solution: the crane forklift attachment. This specialized attachment works seamlessly with cranes, providing a practical solution for lifting and transporting palletized or loose loads.

What Is a Crane Fork Attachment?

A crane fork attachment, or crane pallet fork, is a lifting accessory that attaches to a crane to facilitate the safe and efficient handling of loads. It consists of fork tines, similar to those found on a forklift, mounted on a robust frame. The attachment is suspended from a crane’s hook, allowing it to lift pallets, crates, or other materials easily.

Key Features of Crane Forks

Two Tine Styles

General-purpose tines are the best choice for handling a wide variety of materials. Block tines are specially adapted for use with cubed or banded blocks but can also be used with other materials, including brick.

Self-Balancing Mechanism

A self-shifting (spring-loaded) load-leveling pickup trolley keeps the forks level when empty and maintains the payload’s center of gravity, keeping the load stable and level during lifting.

Adjustable Stops, Fork Spread and Load Heights

The adjustable stop accepts 36″, 40″ and 48″ pallets, the forks spread up to 40 inches wide, and the king post adjusts for load heights from 48″ to 68″.

Robust Construction

Constructed from high-strength steel for durability and the ability to handle heavy loads on construction sites, warehouses and manufacturing facilities.

Typical Applications

Construction Sites

Lift and transport building materials, such as bricks, concrete blocks, and timber, to elevated or hard-to-reach areas.

Logistics

Move palletized goods in warehouses, logistics centers, and manufacturing plants where forklifts may not be available or practical.

Shipping and Ports

Load and unload palletized cargo from ships, trucks, or containers.

Agricultural Operations

Lift and transport heavy loads such as bales of hay, feed, or equipment.

Crane Fork FAQs

What are crane forks used for?

Crane forks allow contractors to lift and position palletized materials with a crane. They are particularly useful when pallets need to be delivered to elevated floors or areas that cannot easily be reached by a forklift.

Are crane forks also called sky forks?

Yes. Some crane companies and contractors refer to crane forks as sky forks. Other terms include crane forklift and block lift.

What is the difference between general-purpose and block crane forks?

General-purpose crane forks use two tines and are designed for common palletized loads. Block versions use six forks to support large, heavy pallets of masonry products such as cinder blocks.

Can crane forks lift standard pallets?

Yes. Two-tine general-purpose crane forks are intended for standard pallet-handling applications.

Other crane attachments: Crane Spreader Bar, Crane Trash Skip, Crane Lift Box.
