Standard shipping (free on every order) is curbside or dock-to-dock delivery to a commercial address in the 48 contiguous states and DC, or parcel delivery for smaller items. We are not currently set up to ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico or other US territories. Liftgate, residential, limited-access and inside delivery, rigging and crating are not included — typically $150 to several hundred dollars, quoted in writing and charged only with your prior approval.

What is your Return Policy?

30 days to request a return from the date you receive your order. Email support@techforgedirect.com with your order number and reason. We will assess your request and, once approved, send you an RMA number and detailed instructions. Do not ship anything back before you have an RMA number.

1. Return shipping costs

You as the customer are responsible for paying the return shipping costs of the items in your order. On freight-shipped machinery this can be substantial — we quote the exact amount in writing before you commit, so you decide with the full figure in front of you.

2. Preparing your return

Parcel-sized items: we email you a return label, and its cost is deducted from your refund. Freight items are collected under a bill of lading we arrange. The item must be unopened, unused and in delivery condition, including all original packaging and accessories, in a condition such that it can be re-sold as new. Machinery must not have been wired in or powered on. Photographic evidence is required.

3. Restocking fee

Change-of-mind returns carry a 25% restocking fee, deducted from your refund. On a $10,000 machine that is $2,500.

4. Damaged or incorrect products

Note it immediately when signing for delivery and send photographs to support@techforgedirect.com the day of delivery. We will ensure you get the correct product you ordered, undamaged, as soon as possible, at no cost to you — no return shipping charge and no restocking fee.

5. Refunds

Processed within 7 business days of your returned item being received and inspected.

6. Cancellations

Cancel any time before your order ships for a full refund with no fee.

Packaged Systems

The LD82 with the STC1 Controller is all you need to start drying wood. The STC1 controller consists of a proportional timer to control the drying cycle and a thermostat to control the heating cycle. Extra equipment such as venting units and supplementary heaters are normally not required. The drying speed is controlled at a rate which will not cause degrade, therefore humidification equipment is unnecessary. The LD82 wood dryer has been designed for the small cabinet making shop, hobbyist, or other craftsman who requires quality kiln dried wood. The system is supplied complete and ready for installation in a small self built drying chamber. No additional equipment is normally required. Your EIPL drying consultant will recommend dimensions of a suitable drying chamber that is matched exactly to your needs.

Save Money

Typically, green wood is available for significantly less than half the price of kiln dried material. Considerable savings can therefore be made by drying your own wood, even after an allowance has been made for modest running costs. Users of the LD82 often recover their investment within a few months of installation.

Improve Quality

Complete control over drying means complete control over quality too. An LD82 enables the user to dry down to the moisture content he needs, evenly and without degrade, throughout the whole stack.

Performance

Designed to operate up to 45˚C, the LD82 can dry wood from green or air dried to 6% moisture content if required. Drying times vary according to species, board thickness and starting moisture content. Your EIPL drying consultant will advise individual drying run times on a case-by-case basis. To insure the dried wood is of the highest quality, EIPL recommends a drying rate of 1% per day or less for 1” hardwood. Faster drying is attainable with operating experience.

With your own drying system you can exercise wider options when purchasing lumber, and reduce inventories. Dry what you want when you want it.

Running Costs

The LD82 is inexpensive to run, because it is installed in an insulated drying chamber. Typically it may consume just 1kW of energy every three hours of continuous running.

Flexible

The LD82 can dry combined loads of mixed species and mixed thickness boards without degrade. This means that inventories can be minimized, saving space and reducing your capital outlay.

Control

The EIPL LD82 wood dryer is supplied complete with the STC1 Controller, and no additional equipment other than a moisture meter is normally necessary. To operate the system, two controls must be set at the beginning of the drying run, in accordance with our comprehensive instructions. Operation is then virtually automatic. An electric thermometer measures the drying chamber and displays this information on the control box. The STC1 Controller is housed in a moisture resistant casing with a transparent hinged front cover.

Airflow

The airflow inside the chamber must be even to prevent temperature layering. The LD82 incorporates a powerful centrifugal fan. No additional fans are normally required.

Flexible Drying

With an LD82 you can dry as much or as little wood as you need, hardwood or softwood. Because the LD82 works at low temperatures your wood is not “cooked” minimizing degrade and promoting a more attractive dried board.
