The trencher uses a powerful chain and teeth mechanism attached to the skid steer to cut through dirt, rock, and thick frost to create trenches of varying depths and widths.

Key Features of a Skid Steer Trencher Attachment

The trencher attachment is hydraulically driven, allowing it to harness the power of the skid steer to perform demanding trenching tasks. Most trenchers come standard with full rock guards for added user protection. Different chains to suit various conditions can be interchanged to accelerate the time it takes to dig the trench and minimize the wear and tear placed on the trencher attachment and skid steer.

Other key features of a trencher attachment for a skid steer include:

Versatility: The trenchers are available in different blade lengths and can be adjusted to different widths and depths, making them suitable for a wide range of trenching tasks.

Powerful Hydraulic System: The hydraulic system of a skid steer trencher attachment provides the power necessary to dig through tough soil conditions. The hydraulic motor drives the chain and teeth, ensuring consistent and efficient trenching performance. This system also allows for precise control of the trencher, enabling operators to achieve accurate trench depths and widths.

Heavy-Duty Chain and Teeth: Made from high-quality, hardened steel, these components can cut through various soil types, including clay, sand, and rocky terrain. The teeth are replaceable, ensuring that the trencher maintains its cutting efficiency over time.

Adjustable Trenching Depth: Skid steer trenchers typically feature adjustable trenching depth settings, allowing operators to customize the depth of the trench according to project requirements. This flexibility is essential for applications such as installing utilities, where precise trench depths are necessary for proper installation.

Easy Attachment and Detachment: Modern skid steer trencher attachments are designed for easy attachment and detachment, making it simple for operators to switch between different attachments as needed.
